Jess at 6 weeks
Monday, May 24th, 2010
Six weeks on from getting home from the hospital and our life as a family is slowly falling into a more standard routine revolving around the new little body in our midst.
So far, Jessica has turned out to be an easy baby – although I’m sure it helps a lot that we’re significantly more relaxed second time around – and at six weeks has made progress with all the standard baby development that one might expect.
The most gratifying bit for Mum and Dad is seeing little smiles, usually just after a feed when she’s feeling all warm and contented with life, but aside from that Jess is also getting some control over her unwieldy head and focussing her eyes better to watch what’s going on in her world.
She feeds well (and is putting on weight), sleeps well at night (managing a 7 hour uninterrupted stretch most nights) and is gradually getting to grips with the fact that daytime is associated with being awake… (Early indications are that Jess is not a morning person!
